Jay Sean: "The US Gates Are Open For UK Talent"

Especially to the likes of Taio, JLS & Chezza...

Jay Sean has stated that he thinks up-and-coming British artists still have the potential to break the US music scene.

Jay became the first solo British male to top the US singles chart since Elton John way back in 1997 when Sean's single Down hit the top spot.

The RnB singer has said that he believes UK artists can make it big in America just as he has done.

The Do You Remember singer told The Daily Telegraph: "Music is changing very quickly in the US. Hip hop is turning into a kind of pop-dance-electro thing, and that should suit British artists."

"One thing they really appreciate in the US is if you're just a nice person. If you're easy to talk to and quite personable that should go a long way anywhere, but maybe its rarer than it should be."

He continued: "I see the wave coming now. Taio Cruz is coming through, JLS are coming through, Cheryl Cole looks as if she might come through."

"There are increasing references for successful British urban acts in America, so now they look and say. 'Let's see what else you guys have over there'. The gates are open."
