Jay Z has revealed he has now split from his record label of ten years Def Jam.
The rapper also served as CEO of the company for over three years. Now he is expected to work with touring firm Live Nation to release albums, produce live shows and sign new artists.
When he headed Def Jam Jigga signed Rihanna and helped steer Kanye West and Ne-Yo to massive success.
It’s thought as part of the amicable split that Jay Z has bought the rights to his own back catalogue recorded while he was with the label.
Blueprint 3 will be the first album released through the Live Nation deal and is likely to be out later this year.
