Jedward For Christmas Number 1?

The lads want to rival the new X Factor champ this Xmas...

Jedward have announced that they plan to challenge the show that made them famous by taking on this year's The X Factor winner in the race for the coveted Christmas number 1.

According to the Press Association, the Irish twins want to release a single at the same time as the 2010 XF champ, with John Grimes stating: "Me and Edward are going to go for Christmas number one this year."

"We're going to do it and sell thousands of copies and out-sell the X factor. Millions! It's going to be huge. It's going to be going Christmas number one."

His brother, Edward added: "I think its going to be the fastest-selling single of all time."

The boys, who recently spoke to us about their return to the XF stage, also revealed that they want to work with American band, MGMT,

Edward confessed: "MGMT are such a renowned band and everyone recognises their music and their music has featured in lots of movies and adverts and stuff and they're like really commercial."

"But it was so cool me and John bumped into them at this party and they said they really wanted to work with us and do a pop electro album with us and they said they dug our whole presence and they gave us a high five and we gave them a high five."

John continued: "They'd just wrote a really amazing dance track that would really suit me and Edward, they said we want to work with you guys or produce your next album."
