The Oscar nominated actor is set to follow in the footsteps of Scarlett Johansson

It didnt really work for Minnie Driver, Jared Leto is still trying to get his respect for all that black eyeliner, and I think its safe to say Scarlett Johanssons didnt go down in history.

Surely the list of failed actor-turn musicians would have put him off but apparently he got the taste for it after learning to play the guitar for the Johnny Cash biopic Walk the Line and is getting all geared up for the release of his album.

Phoenix has been working with The Charlatans front man Tim Burgess, and the debut is expected for release later this year.
