Joss Jeered At Comeback Gig

The singer may have dropped the US twang but that wasn't enough to endear her to everyone...

Joss Stone was booed as she took to the stage an HOUR late at London's Koko club last night (March 6).

The singer, who was in the city to play a one-off showcase of tracks from new album, 'Introducing Joss Stone', didn't explain the reason for her delay and then left the frustrated crowd bemused by a five-minute ramble about the pitfalls of fame and a giggling fit mid-way through one of her biggest hits.

The only way you can find happiness is through music and God, she announced after breaking off amid one tune to tell everyone that regular Caribbean holidays do not a contented girl make. Then she admitted, "I thought you guys hated me but you know what, its not about what you wear or what colour your hair is. In fact I was going to shave it off but someone beat me to it!

The 19-year-old then cracked up three times during a rendition of 'Right To Be Wrong' - the show's finale, and one of only two past hits.

Her voice sounded amazing but unfortunately Joss didn't do much to divert the flak she's received since her Brits appearance, where she big-upped Robbie Williams in a transatlantic accent before bursting into a verse of Amy Winehouse's 'Rehab'.

The American twang was not in evidence here, but her unexplained tardiness and inpromptu musings left the majority of the crowd non-plussed rather than uplifted.

It can't be easy growing up in the celebrity limelight (Joss is after all, still only a teenager), but for now we'd advise her to let the tunes do the talking, all of which incidentally, were very good!
