Justin Bieber has made himself look a little bit silly during an interview in New Zealand and no, it has nothing to do with calling Kim Kardashian his girlfriend.

The Never Let You Go singer was asked by a TV presenter if his surname means basketball in German as Bieber looked at him puzzled saying: "German? I don't know what that means?"

At first, the presenter thought it may have been his strong Kiwi accent that threw the 16-year old singer but even when Bieber was shown how the word was spelt, he still didn't understand the question.

Justin replied: "I really don't know what that means, we don't say that in America. I like basketball if that's what your asking me?"

Whilst German may not be one of his many talents, the pint-sized teen sensation is set to shoot the video for his next US single, Somebody To Love next week.

Basketball, sorry we mean Bieber took to Twitter to express his excitement over the video shoot stating: "Getting excited. We are shooting the vid for SOMEBODY TO LOVE next week!!"

The One Time hit maker also told our US team about the new track, which is set to be his fourth release from US number 1 LP, My World 2.0.

He said of the song: "It's basically about somebody to love…It's cool. It's young. It's nice. I think it's like a universal record."

When it comes to the video, Bieber also revealed that he would love Megan Fox to be his co-star stating: "That would be great. That would be awesome, but I don't know if that would be possible. ... I don't know yet."
