Kate Moss: The Statue

The Supermodel has been immortalised in gold

11:33, Friday, 29 August 2008

A gold statue of Kate Moss will be exhibited at the British Museum later this year. The statue, entitled Siren, has been billed as the largest gold statue built since ancient Egypt and will be part of a group of major sculptures by leading British artists to go on display at the museum in October. Siren has been created by Mark Quinn, whose previous masterworks include the marble sculpture Alison Lapper Pregnant, which appeared on a plinth in London's Trafalgar Square. The museum says that the exhibition is a fitting setting for the 50kg statue of Pete Dohertys ex, as she is "interacting with the great Greek beauties that surround it."
