Katy Perry has insisted Cheryl Cole will quit X Factor for a role on the American version of the show. Simon Cowell is launching US X Factor in 2011.
Katy, who stood in for Dannii Minogue at the X Factor auditions in Dublin, said Cowell considered Cole his right-hand woman. “Simon absolutely adores her,” Katy revealed. “I’m convinced he’ll be taking her to LA. She has all the star qualities.”
It’s now thought likely that Cheryl will make a permanent move to Los Angeles early next year, after her duties on the British version of X Factor are out of the way. The Fight For This Love singer already spends a great deal of time across the pond – she recorded the majority of her album in LA and is expected to host the judges’ houses stage of X Factor in her rented Beverly Hills mansion.
In other Katy Perry news, the California Gurls singer has admitted her deeply religious parents don’t approve of her career and have a hard time listening to her music and watching her risqué videos. "There's a dynamic between children and their parents that sometimes you can agree to disagree, and we definitely do that," she said in a new interview.
"I discovered bands like Queen and The Beach Boys and of course The Beatles, and I just found out that the world maybe wasn't so flat."
