Kelly Clarkson: If I Was A Gay, I'd Say "I Love Women!"

Kelly Clarkson has hit back at those who have questioned her sexuality, stating that she is not a lesbian.

The American Idol star, who has previously admitted that people think she's gay because she is not married, claims that if she was homosexual, she wouldn't hide it.

Speaking to Now magazine, the Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You) singer explained: "People are really concerned about my relationship status.

"When I tell people I'm happy being single, they don't believe me. They say: 'You have to be miserable being alone'."

The 29-year old continued: "I'm not gay. If I was, I'd say: 'I love women!' That's why it drives me nuts.

"But I feel like even if I did say it, people would be like: 'You're just trying to do that to win the gay audience'."

Last weekend, Clarkson kicked off proceedings at the Super Bowl by performing the US National Anthem.
