Kenny Chesney has criticised the Annual Academy of Country Music Awards for changing its voting policies this year. The performer won Entertainer of the Year for the fourth year in a row.
Chesney, who was briefly married to Renee Zellweger in 2005, took issue with a new voting system for the awards that allowed fans to vote online.
Chesney said that the decision devalued the award and created an internet sweepstake.
Carrie Underwood, of American Idol fame took the award for top female vocalist for the second year running and country musics hottest young star Taylor Swift, 18, won her first award and wowed audiences with a water drenched performance at the MGM Grand.
Garth Brooks also performed and received the Crystal Milestone Award.
