KT scoops gong for foreign album sales

KT Tunstall walked away with the UK gong at last night's 2006 European Border Breakers Awards.

The EBBAs honour new artists and bands from European Union member states for debut album sales within the EU " but the twist is that sales in their own country don't count.

KT's album, Eye To The Telescope, scooped the UK award, and the Irish trophy went to Hal for their self-titled long player. The awards, held at the Palais Des Festivals in Cannes, are in their third year and are the brainchild of the European Commission.
