Kylie Minogue has revealed she turned down the opportunity to replace her sister Dannii Minogue on the X Factor.

The 2 Hearts singer confirmed that she had been asked to appear as a guest judge while her little sister Dannii was on maternity leave but decided not to take up the offer.

Kylie told The Mirror: "I was asked to do it, but there were two main reasons why I said no. One was I had my album coming out. And two, because it's Dannii's thing. I would be stepping on her territory and it would get too messy."

"You know that Kylie/Dannii thing again? It's her job, I don't want to come in and then we have that whole comparison when she came in to take over."

She added: "For two years she had a really tough time. People were really nasty about her. There were times when she got really down and then she turned it around."

Kylie also confessed that she has only heard  Dannii's co-star, Cheryl Cole's first solo single Fight For This Love but reportedly said: "Her music doesn't impress me."
