GaGa: “Dad Thought I Was Bonkers”

Lady GaGa has revealed that her dad has not always been supportive of her pop career.

The Poker Face singer, who took to the stage in her usual flamboyant fashion at Oxegen Festival over the weekend, recalls that GaGa Senior came and watched one of her early performances and thought she’d lost the plot. : "I was performing in a leopard G-string and a black tank top,” she said.

“My dad thought I was crazy."

The singer added that her dad assumed she must be on drugs; leading to rift between them. "It wasn't, ‘She's inappropriate' or 'She's a bad girl' or 'She's a slut',” she recalled. “He thought I was nuts, that I was doing drugs and had lost my mind and had no concept of reality any more.

“For my father, it was an issue of sanity."

However, Gaga went on to explain that she has since made-up with her father and the two are now close again. "He loves me for what I am." She explains. "I grabbed a guy today on set, he laughed. He loves it. He thinks I'm wonderful and thank God.

“If he didn't, I would be a different Lady Gaga."
