Lady GaGa has claimed that she is too busy to have sex and has decided to remain celibate.
The Telephone singer has said that she is too career minded to worry about her love life and has urged her fans to practice safe sex.
GaGa, who has openly talked about her sexuality in the past explained: “I can’t believe I’m saying this – I don’t have sex. I’m single right now and I’ve chosen to be single because I don’t have the time to get to know anybody,”
“The rate of infection worldwide is higher than ever for women in our particular demographic. So it’s OK not to have sex, it’s OK to get to know people. I’m celibate, celibacy’s fine.”
Despite her provocative outfits and saucy lyrics, Lady G has insisted that she wants to send out a positive message to her female Little Monsters saying women shouldn't have sex if they aren't ready.
The 24-year old performer told The Daily Mail: “I remember the cool girls when I was growing up. Everyone started to have sex. But it’s not really cool anymore to have sex all the time. It’s cooler to be strong and independent,”
She added: “Something I do want to celebrate with my fans is that it’s OK to be whomever it is that you want to be. You don’t have to have sex to feel good about yourself, and if you’re not ready, don’t do it…And if you are ready, there are free condoms given away at my concerts when you’re leaving!”
In other GaGa news, the eccentric singer has made history in the UK album chart when her LP The Fame, returned to the top spot for the fourth time - knocking Boyzone's Brother from poll position.
The album has now spent an impressive 48 weeks in the top 10 since its debut at number 3 last January.
She is only the second solo female artist ever to achieve such chart success, following in the footsteps of UK songstress Dido who did the same with her second LP Life For Rent between 2003 and 2004.
