After previously teasing The Edge Of Glory ahead of her Born This Way album release on 23rd May, GaGa has now decided to make the track an official single following the positive reaction she received from her fans.

When asked by Roberts about the inspiration behind the powerful anthem, Lady G revealed that despite being penned for her late grandfather, The Edge Of Glory is also motivated by Sylvester Stallone's hit movie (and GaGa's favourite flick) Rocky.

The eccentric songstress explained: "The Edge of Glory means a lot to me – it was written when my grandfather died."

"That song is about looking life in the eye and when you die saying ‘I won, I’m a champion’ like Rocky sprinting to the top of the staircase."

She continued: "Rocky is my favourite movie – I love Rocky 3 because he gets his a** kicked in the first round and comes back."

Lady G, who recently confirmed that she is single after splitting with boyfriend Luc Carl, went on to confess that Stallone's character, Rocky Balboa, is her dream partner.

The 25-year old admitted: "Rocky is the ideal man. I never wanted to be the rock star, I wanted to be the girlfriend – I never wanted to be Rocky, I wanted to be Adrian.”

GaGa also teased the forthcoming video for The Edge Of Glory, telling Nicola: "They’re not ready for The Edge of Glory video though, I’ve already wrote the treatment for that and it’s my favourite.”

Tune in to MTV Meets Lady GaGa on Monday 23rd May at 9pm on MTV Music to see if GaGa answered your question!
