Miley Cyrus and her hunky boyfriend Liam Hemsworth have split up.

The Hannah Montana actress, who met Aussie Liam on the set of their movie The Last Song has parted ways with the actor after reports that he was 'jealous' of her saucy stage antics.

Sources claim that Hemsworth did not agree with Miley's raunchy make over for LP, Can't Be Tamed and was not a fan of how she behaved when performing live.

Reports suggest that although Liam knew it was all an act, he was said to be uncomfortable with other guys in Miley's life resulting in the 17-year old singer calling time on their relationship.

Hemsworth's rep has since confirmed to US magazine that they are no longer an item, with Cyrus' people declining to comment on their break-up.

The Climb hit maker had previously claimed that Liam was 'The One', telling Parade magazine: "[Liam has] become my best friend in the whole wide world. I love him."

"He really respects me for who I am because coming from Australia, he really didn’t know me as the celebrity I am here."

She added: "I got to tell him about myself on my own terms and my own way. He had no preconceived notion of who I was supposed to be."

In June, the couple denied reports that their relationship was on the rocks after claims that Miley was jealous of Liam's rise to fame.
