Reese Witherspoon Picks Up MTV Generation Award

As Robert Pattinson delivers a rather rude presentation speech...

Reese Witherspoon received the coveted Generation Award at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards last night, with Robert Pattinson on hand to present the actress with the accolade.

Joined by Patrick Dempsey and Chelsea Handler, R-Pattz caused controversy when handing over the Golden Popcorn to Reese, addressing their relationship in flick, Water For Elephants.

The Twilight actor opened his speech by speaking about his first film with Witherspoon, where he played the Legally Blonde star's son in Vanity Fair, joking that she had him "cut" from the flick.

When talking about Water For Elephants, Pattinson stated: "I didn't cut you out, but I did f**k you. It's not always a bad thing to have sexual chemistry with your mother."

Seeing the funny side, Reese responded: "After two kids, you're the best motherf***** in Hollywood."

Witherspoon then proceeded to accept the MTV Generation accolade, admitting that she was anxious about winning the award after Sandra Bullock picked up the prize last year.

The actress stated: "I was really nervous when they told me I was gonna get this award. I've gotten to work with incredible people."

Reese added: "I just wanna say to all the girls out there that… it's possible to make it in Hollywood without a reality show. Thank to everybody at MTV… and all my fans."
