MTV and Gift Music have teamed up to put on a series of exclusive live shows featuring the best established and emerging talent around.

One Night Only release their second album, the self titled ‘One Night Only’, on the 23rd August through Vertigo Records. The album is preceded by the release of the first single Say You Don’t Want It on the 16th August.

Their forthcoming album, recorded in Brussels and produced by Ed Buller (Suede/Pulp/White Lies) captures the headrushing excitement of how it feels to ride this rollercoaster. It’s an album of giddy, almost dizzying energy and excitement; bigger and more confident tunes than the boys making their debut could have possibly imagined, and a feeling of being catapulted into something tremendously exciting and perhaps a little troubling. It’s the story of chasing the end of the rainbow, what happens along the way and when you get there. One Night Only justifiably call the results a “quantum leap” that will take them to a whole new audience.

The hurtling first single and album opener Say You Don’t Want It is an instantly memorable song which talks of living like stars with beautiful girls and fast cars but also the fake and materialistic side of what can also be an empty and lonely world behind pop stardom. It captures the highs and lows - how it feels to be pop’s most wanted and the darker flipside of pop success which the fans never get to see.

One Night Only released their debut album in January 2008, and it quickly went Gold, and spawned the huge hit single Just For Tonight. They amassed legions of rabid fans up and down the country from their constant touring – including a bunch of sold out headline tours, and major festival appearances at Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds, T in the Park etc.

Since those heady days of breaking through, frontman George has become the face of Burberry (at the last campaign shoot, he met now good friend and video co-star Emma Watson) and is regularly glimpsed in fashion shoots and on 25ft billboards around the world.

It all seems a long way from One Night Only’s beginnings, fitting all their gear into a Renault Clio and a Vauxhall Corsa and playing to handfuls of people in clubs in Derby, York and Mansfield. But some things haven’t changed a bit. Often seen in the same Helmsley local they went in before they enjoyed hits – which now has One Night Only posters on its walls – they also enjoy a closeness with their fanbase - nurtured over the internet - beyond that of many bands. And they are still pop dreamers.

The difference is that, with an album packed with potential singles,. One Night Only are now the band they always wanted to be.

To be a good frontman, you need to be standing up and projecting. And you need good songs.

Andy Burrows of I Am Arrows knows all about this.

Firstly he was the drummer in Razorlight – and say what you like about Johnny Borrell, but he’s a great frontman.

More importantly, with his debut album as I Am Arrows, Burrows has the great songs. Sun Comes Up Again Again (released Aug. 16th on Vertigo and already previewed as one of the albums of 2010 by NME) is chock-full of tunes.

Beautiful pop songs that suggest Seventies soul, modern ‘beats and bleeps’, and timeless melodies. Heartfelt songs about love, doubt, confusion, romance and, here and there, the mercurial ‘bromance’ he had with his former bandmates. The songs are small but huge, warmly fuzzy but perfectly formed, instantly appealing and naggingly unforgettable.

Andy Burrows may have sat down to write them – on a piano, in New York, and at home in North London – but he will be standing up to sing them, playing guitar and adopting his own form of ‘projection’.

Burrows spent last summer in New York, enjoying his newfound freedom from Razorlight. He hooked up with old pals We Are Scientists, gigging with them and playing on their upcoming third album. He returned to the UK with a stack of songs, including the perfect 70-second piano mood-echo of Monsters Dash, and a big bar bill, and hunkered down in west London’s Eastcote Studios with producer Eliot James (Noah & The Whale, Bloc Party).

Playing all the instruments himself, the liberated and energised Burrows brought to twinkly life the songs that had started pouring from him.
