Mumford & Sons have postponed three upcoming gigs in the US after bassist Ted Dwane was hospitalised for a blood clot on Monday (June 10).
In a statement to their fans, the folk band: "Our friend and bandmate Ted has been feeling unwell for a few days, and yesterday he was taken to a hospital to receive emergency treatment.
"The scans revealed a blood clot on the surface of his brain that requires an operation. Ted is receiving excellent care and we are being assured that he will recover quickly from surgery."
As a result, three shows scheduled for this week have been put on hold, including a gig in Dallas on Tuesday (June 11), another in Woodlands, Texas, on Wednesday and a New Orleans date on Thursday.
The band pledged to reschedule the dates as soon as they can and honour the tickets from this week's planned shows at a future date. At press time they were not planning to cancel or postpone any other appearances on their tour.
The I Will Wait group's next show is due to take place this Saturday (June 15) at the Bonnaroo festival in Manchester, Tennessee.
