Matt Bellamy Gushes About Kate Hudson

Muse frontman admits he’s nervous about meeting mum Goldie Hawn...

Matt Bellamy is gearing up to meet his potential future mother-in-law, Hollywood legend Goldie Hawn, after his whirlwind romance with Kate Hudson moved up a notch.

The Muse frontman has only been dating Bride Wars actress Kate for a few weeks, after meeting in the US. They made their first public appearance together at Glastonbury, where she watched his headline set from the side of the Pyramid Stage on Saturday night.

Matt opened up about the relationship at the Silver Clef Awards in London: “Things are going great at the moment. I am very happy,” he told The Mirror. “We had such a good time at Glastonbury. We just have fun together and are seeing how it goes. Kate is great. We have tried to keep things private so we haven't told anyone how we met or any details like that. We are just doing our thing.”

As for meeting Kate's mum, Goldie Hawn, the singer admitted he was feeling apprehensive. “I'm quite nervous. You don't want her reading daft stories about you online – it's embarrassing when you meet someone's family for the first time... I don't want to make the whole experience even more embarrassing.”

The smitten singer even confessed the idea of marriage had crossed his mind. “It's a little bit too soon to talk about weddings and stuff,” he said. “Ask me again in a few months though.”

Kate, 31, has a six-year-old son from her marriage to The Black Crowes frontman Chris Robinson. In the past, she has been linked to baseball star Alex Rodriguez and her You, Me And Dupree co-star Owen Wilson. Matt was previously engaged to his long-term girlfriend, Italian psychologist Gaia Polloni, but they broke up a year ago.
