Nas has exclusively told MTV News what he thinks of Jay-Z’s Blueprint 3.
Asked if he was a fan of the new album the rap legend revealed: “Yeah of course, Blueprint 3 is an album that suits the times, it’s real rap music, you know what I’m saying?”
Speaking at the Royal Albert Hall Nas also recalled the last time he was at the historic venue to play with Jigga.
He said: “Jay-Z put on a hell of a show. He’s done so much in his career and to come to such a prestigious place was like crazy, y’know. I think Chris Martin was here, I came out, you know his wife, it was definitely crazy.”
Asked which artists he had been listening to this year the Queensbridge MC named a lot of hip hop’s biggest names.
Nas explained: “I respect the young MCs they are the future, if they can hold it down.
“But it’s all about the warrior guys, the Jay-Zs and the
Raekwons, right now. Hopefully the young guys can get to that level where they are man, but right now I gotta listen to the stuff that really matters.
“That’s my peers- like guys who have been around. But I got love for the young guys too.
“You got
Drake out there, you got Lil Wayne, you got
Asher Roth,
Kid Cudi, I’m just really watching them come up, and lovin’ it.”
