The Beautiful Monster singer’s girlfriend has a daughter…

Ne-Yo is a father for the first time after his girlfriend Monyetta Shaw gave birth to a baby girl on 12 November.

The couple have named their daughter Madilyn Grace. "I've been in love before but this feels like nothing I've ever felt," the new dad said. "Like I'm in love for the first time."

The arrival took the pair by surprise as she wasn’t due until January. Shaw went into labour early in Atlanta where the Beautiful Monster singer was attending a charity event; he rushed to her side and made it just in time for the birth.

The proud father announced the happy news on Twitter: "As my life transforms due to the new life that sprung up on me last night, it's good to know my folks support. Luv y'all,” he wrote to his followers. “She's healthy and happy. Feels like I'm in luv for the first time.

“Welcoming that lil' girl to the world last night defined for me what 'willing to kill and die for' truly means. My world, my life, all hers."

The star signed off with: "Brand new baby, brand new album. Life is GOOD!!!!” Ne-Yo’s new LP, Libra Scale, is due later this month ahead of his UK tour which kicks off in Glasgow in February.
