Nick Lachey has offered his support to Jessica Simpson, following her recent break-up.

The singer, who was married to Simpson for four years (as documented by MTV’s rather brilliant fly-on-the-wall show Newlyweds), told People magazine that his bouncy-breasted wife is very much in his thoughts since her split from Tony Romo.

"I certainly have heard about her break-up and I wish her the best, as I've always done,” said Nick, who coincidentally recently broke-up with girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo, not that we’re getting excited about the possibility of a Nick and Jessica reunion or anything. “Aside from that, there really is nothing to say.

"I haven't talked to her in probably two years. I wish her happiness. That's where it pretty much ends." Oh.

Nick also went on to reveal that he’s become quite deep and philosophical in his old age, and offered some of his knowledge to Jessica. "I've learned, through years of not only being in this business, but being in relationships, that you have to take it as it goes,” said the ex-boyband beefcake.

"With every experience, you learn something about your life, and you try to take that and move on and be a better person because of it. We'll see what happens."
