Fans of female rapper Nicki Minaj can expect a new album from the star next year, according to her record label boss.
Cash Money co-CEO and founder Birdman has confirmed Minaj's new LP could drop in early 2012, revealing that the Super Bass hitmaker has been working hard in the studio.
During an interview with Billboard magazine, Birdman - real name Brian Williams - also hinted that Nicki's Barbies may even get to hear the first single from her currently untitled new album by the end of this year.
He explained: "Nicki's back in the studio, so we're looking to drop Nicki in the first quarter."
When asked when the first release from her new record will drop, Williams added: "Maybe this year? We're really thinking it out. But she's in the studio, and we're looking real soon, because she's ready to go and we're ready to go with her."
In other Nicki Minaj related news, the Young Money star picked up two gongs at the American Music Awards last Sunday (20th November), taking home the rap/hip hop prizes for best artist and best album for Pink Friday.
