Nicola Roberts Addresses "Ugly" Comments

After being called "the ugly one" from Girls Aloud, Nic hits back...

Nicola Roberts has exclusively told MTV UK that she is glad the press got bored of branding her "the ugly one" from Girls Aloud.

Speaking during the shoot of her solo video, Beat Of My Drum, as part of our brand new MTV Music show, On Set With Nicola Roberts, the 25-year old claimed: "I don’t know if people just got bored of the joke or whether those people who said nasty things grew up."

Roberts continued that she tried to block out their nasty comments, explaining: "It can’t register anymore. There is no room for that, it just brings you down and just turns you into a negative person and makes you doubt yourself. I don’t think that anybody is in a position to make somebody doubt themselves."

She continued: "We do enough of that on our own, without other people like adding pressure and I just think that people need to chill out. Not everybody is perfect, do your own thing and mind your own bloody business do you know what I mean?"

Nicola also revealed that despite doubting herself in the past, she tried not to feel conscious when shooting her the promo for Beat of My Drum, adding: "Even though you might be like 'oh my god' inside, you’ve just got to go for it, otherwise it’s just going to look stupid. You have to be like, I can deal with this."
