Nicole Scherzinger: "Derek Loves Ladies"

The Pussycat Doll insists Cheryl Cole's rumoured lover is not gay...

Nicole Scherzinger has denied claims that her dancer pal Derek Hough is in fact gay and not dating Cheryl Cole.

As we previously reported, it has been alleged that the Girls Aloud star's romance with Hough was a 'cover-up' to protect a relationship Chezza was actually having with a Black Eyed Peas backing dancer - and that Derek was supposedly gay.

Now in a chat with celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, Nicole has rubbished rumours that her Dancing With The Stars partner Derek is gay, insisting he is 'into' women.

When asked by Perez whether she thought Chez and Derek's relationship was fake and that Hough actually liked men, Scherzinger replied: "No, no - he loves the ladies. He went out with Shannon Elizabeth."

As the riddle of Cheryl's love-life continues, the Pussycat Dolls star has also revealed that she thought she would 'suck' as a guest judge on the X Factor.

The 32-year old, who filled in for Dannii Minogue and Cheryl on the talent show told The Sun: "I'm much more comfortable being on stage than in the judges' position."

She added: "I really enjoyed the experience. It was kind of crazy. It was just a lot of fun. Simon Cowell was just brilliant and Louis Walsh was just the sweetest thing ever and lovely."

Despite Scherzinger being linked with the US X Factor judging job, reports yesterday claimed that Cowell has decided to give the position to Katy Perry.
