Orlando Bloom Will Appear in The Hobbit

Peter Jackson has officially announced that Orlando Bloom will appear in The Hobbit as elf Legolas.

 

In a Facebook post, The Lord of The Rings Director stated that he is thrilled to be working with Orlando again: "Funny thing is, I look older—and he doesn’t! I guess that's why he makes such a wonderful elf".

 

Bloom joins a host of returning actors to the prequel including Elijah Wood, Cate Blanchett and Andy Serkis, as well as new cast member, Martin Freeman, who will play a young Bilbo Baggins.

 

Peter Jackson won an Oscar for this LOTR Trilogy in 2004 when The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King picked up the Best Picture award.
