Penelope Cruz Marries Javier Bardem 'In Secret'

The couple got hitched in the Bahamas...

Penelope Cruz has secretly married her long-term boyfriend Javier Bardem.

The couple, who started dating when starring in Vicky Christina Barcelona together in 2007 are said to have tied to knot in a secret ceremony in the Bahamas.

Cruz and Bardem are said to have had a 'low-key' wedding with only a handful of family there to witness their union.

A spokesperson for the pair confirmed to US magazine, Life & Style that they married at a friends house on the tropical island earlier this month.

It is thought that Penelope wore a dress designer for her by designer and pal John Galliano for the ceremony.

The Spanish couple who have starred in three movies together have always kept their romance out of the public eye, despite being dogged with engagement rumours.

In a rare show of public affection, Bardem - who recently revealed that he is set to star in Glee -  dedicated his Best Actor award at the Cannes Film Festival dedicated his prize to his new wife.

Cruz, who has previously dated Matthew McConaughey and Tom Cruise is thought to be keen on having kids after claiming in a recent interview that she wants to have babies one day and believes in 'family, love and children.'
