Peter Andre has been rushed to hospital, complaining of "excruciating stomach pains."

The Unconditional singer, who was supposed to be performing a sell-out show in Plymouth tonight, is said to have been admitted to A&E in the early hours of this morning, according to a statement by his management company, CAN.

News of Andre's condition hit Twitter when his ex-wife, Katie Price, tweeted: "I'm told CAN are going to release a statement saying pete been rushed to hospital with stomach pains! why does press need to know!”

Peter's manager, Claire Powell, was quick to hit back at Price, also known as Jordan, replying on the social networking site: "The reason why is because he has a sell out arena tour starting tonight and his fans need to know not to turn up for the Plymouth show."

Andre's brother, Michael, also took to Twitter to comment on Peter's dash to hospital, posting on his page: "Hi everyone. Thx for your messages. Its true he was really ill last night and we where at A&E in the early hours this morning."

He later added: "Weve had a difficult night and unfortunately cant comment on whats wrong with him but Petes a fighter."

A statement regarding Pete's health has since appeared on his official website saying: "Peter Andre was rushed to hospital in the early hours of this morning in excruciating pain. At present he is being monitored closely and being kept in for extensive tests and scans."

"Peter was due to play at Plymouth Pavilions tonight for the first night of his Arena Tour, however this has had to be postponed due to his current condition and will be re-scheduled for Tuesday 21st December 2010."

"Peter’s manager Claire Powell said: “We are very worried about Peter and at present we do not know what is causing him to be in so much pain. Peter is terribly disappointed that he is unable to perform at tonight’s sold out opening night. "

"At this time we have no more information though we are hoping Peter will be able to perform at Minehead tomorrow as planned. We will keep his fans informed via his website www.peterandre.com for further information on the situation."

Get well soon Pete!
