Johnny Depp Gets New Leading Lady For Pirates 4

French actress will play mermaid in On Stranger Tides...

The fourth Pirates of the Caribbean film has found a new leading-lady after Keira Knightley quit the Disney film.

French actress Astrid Berges-Frisbey will star as Syrena, a mermaid who encounters Johnny Depp's character Captain Jack Sparrow.

The 23-year old actress has previously starred in French stage production Eqqus and will join the likes of Depp, Penelope Cruz, Ian McShane, Geoffrey Rush and Stephen Graham in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.

The blockbuster's previous stars Knightly and Orlando Bloom have stepped aside from the fourth Pirates film to work on other projects.

Disney plans to start shooting the new film in June with hopes of releasing the movie in May 2011.
