Kanye West offers Rihanna his support as she cancels concerts

Rihanna has cancelled shows in Malaysia and Indonesia AND her own 21st birthday party after allegations her boyfriend Chris Brown attacked her.

The Shut Up and Drive singer was due to play in Asia this week and had planned a big party on February 20th for her milestone birthday.

Meanwhile after Sundays incident Kanye West has sent his support to Rihanna and said hes devastated by what happened.

He told US radio host Ryan Seacrest: "I was completely devastated during the performance Rihanna is so important to our culture... to pop music. I feel like she is the most important artist in music and has the most potential.

I feel like that's my baby sis. I would do any and everything to help her in any situation."

Kanye added: "All I want to say is, it's so devastating. Just as a person, I don't care how famous she is or even if she just worked at McDonald's... [this] should never happen. It should never come to that place."

In other developments Rihannas grandmother Clara Brathwaite has tried to reassure worried fans saying she is: fine and doing well.

So far Brown has been charged with making criminal threats and released on a $50,000 bail.
