The hunky actor, who plays Edward Cullen in the vampire flicks, claims he is keen to tread the theatre boards but is worried his over-zealous fans would hinder his chances and "spoil" the experience for others in the crowd.

Speaking to WENN, R-Pattz admitted: "I love to do theatre stuff but right now I couldn't imagine it being a good experience."

"I just couldn't imagine it being anything other than people constantly taking photos and stuff."

He added: "I think it's too much for me to take. I need to have that separation. It's like there's too much energy in an audience."

Last year, Pattinson confessed that he wanted to work in theatre in order to "gain more credibility" for his acting.
