Russell Brand Starts Filming 'Arthur' With Helen Mirren

Russell Brand has started filming new movie Arthur with legendary actress Dame Helen Mirren in New York.

Brand, who plays Arthur Bach in the remake of the 1981 classic which starred the late Dudley Moore was spotted in the Big Apple with his co-star yesterday.

Katy Perry's beau sported a powder blue suit with his hair gelled down in the style of Moore while also losing his trademark stubble for a more clean shaven look.

Mirren and Russell struck up an unlikely friendship while making The Tempest earlier this year where Dame Helen is said to have stolen Brand's underpants as a memento of working with him.

The actress, 64 explained: '"He was leaving and he was coming to say goodbye and he had a pile of books and papers and on top of all these things were a pair of bright yellow, canary yellow underpants - Y-fronts."

She added: "I grabbed them and said, "Russell, I'm having those as my little memento of working with you. He's a great guy. He's very sweet. He's got a very good heart and I loved working with him."

The Get Him To The Greek star also recently claimed that he was very fond of Mirren saying: "Dame Helen Mirren is a wonderfully attractive woman. She's obviously older than I am, and I've managed to define accurately what my attraction is to her."

As well as Brand and Mirren, the cast also includes newcomer Greta Gerwig and Jennifer Garner - who plays Russell's love interest in the film.
