Sarah Silverman to host MTV Movie Awards

Shes funny; shes filthy; and shes the hostess with the mostess

Comedian Sarah Silverman is to host the 2007 MTV Movie Awards on June 3.

The foul-mouthed US funny-woman, a big star in the US, will follow in the footsteps of the likes of Justin Timberlake, Lindsay Lohan and Jack Black as the master of ceremonies for the double A-list movie ceremony.

Following her announcement as host, Silverman said that MTV is paying her in Jewish crackers. "I'm of the Jewish culture," she explained. "They're actually paying me with a million dollars' worth of matzo " the resale value is somewhere around two grand."

Big movies in the running for this years gongs include Borat, Dreamgirls and 300.

Catch the 2007 MTV Movie Awards on Monday June 4 at 9pm, only on MTV.
