Justin Bieber's suspected sweetheart Selena Gomez has reportedly ditched her purity ring, much to the dismay of her fuming parents.

According to alliswired.com, the ring that Gomez was given as a 12-year old to mark her vow of celibacy until marriage, has disappeared after the Disney star was caught kissing Bieber while on holiday in St. Lucia.

Selena's parents are now said to be "fuming" that she has removed the ring, with a friend close to the family suggesting they are worried the 18-year old will do something she may regret.

The source told the website: "When the ring came off, Selena’s parents became unglued. Selena got the ring at 12 and never took it off. But when things started getting hot with Justin, suddenly she was wearing it less and less."

"Selena’s family thinks the world of Justin and isn’t opposed to them dating. But they’re very conservative people and they’d be heartsick if she did something with him that she’d later regret.”

The insider added: "The family has even gone as far as having people in her entourage report back to them when she spends time with Justin. Selena hates being spied on, and that’s pushing her away from her family.”

As well as kissing in St. Lucia, Selena and the Baby hitmaker have since been spotted getting "super cuddly" in their own private cabana, which onlookers claimed the couple "zipped up" to gain more privacy.
