Rapper P Diddy has found himself in a spot of bother with with police after being arrested for an alleged altercation with his son’s American football coach.

BBC News reports that officers at UCLA University in Los Angeles had to deal with the incident at the college training complex, where his son Justin was playing on the team.

While nobody was injured in the episode, it’s claimed that the assault involved a gym kettlebell, with the ‘Bad Boy For Life’ hitmaker later charged with assault with a deadly weapon.

It’s thought Diddy lost his cool after a team assistant repeatedly shouted at his son, with the Hip-Hop star said to have confronted the coach in his office after the match.

In statement, football coach Jim Mora said: “This is an unfortunate incident for all parties involved.

"While UCPD continues to review this matter, we will let the legal process run its course and refrain from further comment at this time."

Diddy - real name Sean Combs - is yet to comment on the incident, and has since been released from a Los Angeles County jail after posting bail.
