Simian Mobile Disco’s Marathon

Theres been lots of noise coming from the SMD camp recently. After announcing a gig at new super-club Matter, we hear theyre working on The Klaxons second LP as well as recruiting the vocal talents of Beth Ditto and Gruff Rhys for their own new album.

But for those fans that cant wait until April 2009 for their album we have the guys at Nike to thank for a new track 6 months early.

Entitled Run, this unique new single is the first original track the Wichita signed artists have recorded since their best-selling album Attack Decay Sustain Release.

Explaining the idea behind the track, one half of the duo Jas Shaw told MTV News: Not being much of a runner myself, I read quite a bit about running and chatted to friends who were runners. They told me what they really love about a run is that on starting, its all very mechanical but then you reach a certain point where its almost as though your body and mind separate to different places.

Jas continued: I really liked this idea and thought it could be reflected well in the track, so the repetitive mechanical beat keeps everything regular, then the chords and the melody came over the top as the track and the run progresses.

The exclusive track, Run is out today (September 29th) through the iTunes Music Store .
