Geri Halliwell is secretly compiling a new, younger version of the Spice Girls, according to reports.
Fourteen years after Girl Power took over the world, the News of the World states that Geri has found five young women and is moulding them into an opinionated, feisty gang, just as the original Spice Girls were.
"This is very exciting for her. She's been painstakingly putting together the new band,” a source close to Geri told the tabloid. "She wants to combine the energy and drive of the Spice Girls.
The other band members, Victoria, Emma, Mel B and Mel C, are aware of Geri’s plans. “She's been keeping it quiet because she doesn't want to jinx anything but she has told the other girls and they are very supportive.”
According to reports, several record labels are already interested in Spice Girls 2.0. "Geri has already introduced the band to some key music executives and quite a few of the labels have already taken a keen interest. She believes the time is right for another girl band to take over the world.
"When Geri puts her mind to something it's hard to stop her. She could be a very successful manager."
The 38-year-old was on the judging panel for Popstars: The Rivals which founded Girls Aloud back in 2002. More recently she stood in as a guest judge for Dannii Minogue on X Factor.
