The next Spider Man film will be directed by Marc Webb, it’s been announced.
Original director Sam Raimi- who was in charge of the previous three films in the series- left the project earlier this month.
Tobey Maguire also quit the fourth flick after disagreements over the script.
Webb directed hit (500) Days Of Summer last year and is also known for music videos with Green Day, Fergie, Pussycat Dolls and My Chemical Romance.
In a statement he said: “I'm here because there's an opportunity for ideas, stories and histories that will add a new dimension, canvas and creative voice to Spider-Man”
The next Spider Man is set to go back to the super hero’s time at school and will be released in 2012.
