For those who can't wait until 3rd July 2012 to see The Amazing Spider-Man, the movies official website launched yesterday (15th December), crammed full of photos and production details.

Theamazingspiderman.com gives an insight into the reboot of Sony's franchise, where Andrew Garfield takes over the spidey-suit from Tobey Maguire.

The website reveals a general overlay of the story, hinting that Garfield's first outing as Peter Parker/Spider-Man will be 'the first in a series of movies' - with reports suggesting that at least one sequel has already been planned for 2nd May 2014.

It also describes the new flicks as 'a series of movies that tells a different side of the Peter Parker story' - implying there could be more action-packed Spiderman films on the way.

The flick seems to be centering around some mystery at the heart of the Parker mythos, related to Peter’s father’s relationship with Norman Osborn and unlike Sam Rami's interpretation of Spiderman, the crime-fighter will be investigated by police for 'vigilantism.'

The Amazing Spider-Man is due to hit cinemas next July. We can't wait!
