When MTV got offered an interview with The Feeling at their massive Somerset House gig we thought why hog the fun?
So we started a competition to find one massive fan to hang out with the band backstage and quiz the boys.
The winner was Peter Greenwood- pictured above with the band and his friend Lucy- who said: I am tired of hearing bands interviewed with the same boring questions over and over.
Read below to see how he did
Peter: The first thing I want to ask you about is the 24-hour music video challenge you did, What was that like?
All: Tiring
Paul: I didn't sleep very much before and I haven't really slept the night of it, so Im a bit of a mess. Um, I think we're all very proud of having achieved a really great video (for single Join With Us). All credit goes particularly to our crew and director. They worked really hard.
Dan: It effected them more. We still did what we did just with added pressure but they had to do three weeks worth of working in about eight hours!
Richard: I think it's one of our best videos
P: How did you manage to get a fairground in just 24 hours?
Richard: We hired it. We were going to make a video anyway for that song, so when they said, do it in 24 hours, we just did what we would have done, just in less time. So we'd already planned what we wanted to do.
Paul: Usually you get home after a really long day, at maybe two in the morning, black out and then wake up around lunch time but we haven't really had that time to get straight again, so we're a bit funky.
Dan: You mean funky, tired though
Paul: I mean funky as in the funk of forty thousand years, that sort of funky.
P: I read something on the Internet about Kiefer Sutherland directing one of your videos. Is that true?
Paul: Well, no. He helped to direct a documentary with us that we made about the French Alps. We went out there and filmed it this year and he did a voice over for it.
Richard: He did it off his own bat as well.
Paul: He basically said he wanted to work with us and he came along and put his name to it, which helps us.
Richard: The papers hear a name and a word and they don't listen to what was said in-between, like, "it's not a ... video." It will be on TV in October hopefully
P: The next thing I wanted to ask about is the iTunes festival, which you played the other day. How do you think that compares with other festivals such as Glastonbury?
Richard: It's just different really; it's more like a series of gigs that they film for TV
Paul: It's not a festival (laughs)
Dan: No, but it's cool
Richard: It's cool, they gave us ipods
Dan: But I left mine in the dressing room. They gave us an ipod touch and it was still in its box.
P: Keeping with the theme of festivals, do you reckon you prefer to play indoor or outdoor shows?
Dan: Depends on the weather (laughs). I don't know, I think I like outdoor gigs
Richard: Today's really nice (at Somerset House). It's a bit of both really, we've got kind of walls but no roof, but you can still hear the sound at the back from the PA. Sometimes you're just in a massive field in the middle of nowhere and the sound sort of disappears and it feels a bit flat.
P: You've not long come back off tour with Bon Jovi but I heard that you didn't actually get to meet him. Was there any reason for that?
Dan: Well, it's not like he didnt like us or doesn't know who we are. They were happy we were supporting them but I don't think he is the sort of person that meets people
Richard: You never know, maybe one day we'll get to that stage
Paul: Maybe he's a robot
Kevin: He might be a reptile
Dan: No one's ever going to get close enough to find out
P: Your second album [Join With Us] is already a big success. Do you have any plans for your next one?
Dan: Always
Richard: We're always working on new stuff
Paul: We've got a tour coming up all through October and November.
The Feeling's new single Join With Us is released on September 15
