Glasgow newcomers The Fratellis have told MTV.co.uk theyll rock Arctic Monkeys off the stage at the Leeds/Reading fest.

"We're a hell of lot more tuneful, singer Jon told us. Is no one sick of hearing that same song of theirs over and over again?"

The three-piece, made up of frontman Jon, guitarist Barry and drummer Mince, may end up playing the same time slot as the Sheffield chart-toppers but theyre not worried.

"People will see were pretty colourful and there are lots of possibilities with us.

We dont stick with one style and we dont like singing about mundane every day life like a lot of bands do. So you hate where you grew up? Keep it to yourself"

They might tell it like it is, but The Fratellis assure us theyre a sensitive bunch underneath.

"I think weve been labelled a rowdy band because were from Glasgow, says Jon. But weve all been brought up well and we dont even get drunk very often these days!"

The Fratellis new single Chelsea Dagger is out August 28 and the album Costello Music is out September 11.
