Heidi's Surgeon 'Was Texting' Before Car Crash

Heidi Montag's plastic surgeon Dr. Frank Ryan reportedly caused the car crash that killed him by accidentally driving of a cliff while texting on his mobile.

As we previously reported, The Hills star's surgeon who carried out her 10 cosmetic procedures died when his Jeep veered off the side of the Pacific Coast Highway yesterday outside Los Angeles.

Now, new allegations claim that Dr. Ryan was texting his brother at the time of the fatal crash, which his ex-girlfriend suggests caused his death.

Charmaine Blake told People.com: "He lived up in Malibu on a tiny street and he was texting while driving and he accidentally went over the cliff…"

The California Highway Patrol has since confirmed Blake's claims that Ryan WAS sending a text message before the crash but added that investigators are still yet to decide what caused the accident.

The 50-year old surgeon was pronounced dead at the scene after suffering serious head injuries.

Montag tweeted yesterday that she is 'devastated' by the surgeon's untimely death and claimed he was 'an angel who changed her life.'

Dr. Ryan gave his last known interview for our new show, Heidi's Face which is set to premiere on MTV on 22nd August at 9pm.
