The Oscar ceremony was almost cancelled but it ended up being one of the most glam events in Hollywood!

But the jury took a more serious lead - almost all the big dramas of last year took away a few statuettes.

The big winner was No Country For Old Men - Javier Bardem got the Oscar for best supporing actor and indy directors Joel and Ethan Coen won in the best director category - before at the end of the night the film was announced as the best film.

Another 'manly' drama is There Will Be Blood - and Daniel Day Lewis took home the best leading man statuette.

There were a few surprises in the female categories - Marion Cotillard won in the best actress category for La Vie En Rose and Tilda Swinton was honoured as best actress in supporting role.
