Tulisa Contostavlos' group, who were put together at Boot Camp, received the lowest amount of public votes along with male soloist Frankie Cocozza, with the two acts then having to sing for their place in next week's show.
Louis Walsh then had the deciding vote, telling the two finalists: "It's tough, neither act had a really good night. I'm going to save the act that i think has the most potential in the competition."
The Irish music mogul then announced he was saving Frankie, crushing Nu Vibes hopes of winning the competition.
Contostavlos took to the stage in tears to comfort the boys and when asked by XF host Dermot O'Leary what went wrong for the group, the 23-year old replied: "I'm not sure, all I can say is I believed in them. I took a chance and they worked hard, they gave everything."
She added: "I still believe in them now and I wish they could stay in this competition. Just keep going. All of them are such beautiful lads. They're talented and they deserve it."
