Tom Cruise At Valkyrie Premiere

Tom Cruise meets his fans and co-stars Eddie Izzard and Bill Nighy attend too

Tom Cruise and his wife Katie Holmes were in London last night for the premiere of Nazi thriller Valkyrie.

Also on the red carpet were British co-stars Bill Nighy and Eddie Izzard.

The film tells the story of Claus von Stauffenberg who lead a plot to try to assassinate Hitler in 1944.

Valkyrie caused some controversy in Germany but Cruise told MTV News he was used to it. "

Ive been through a lot of these things on these movies. People say why are you working on this movie? and I remember with Rainman and Interview With a Vampire I went through it."

When we asked Tom how he prepared for the role he told us: "(I did) a lot of research. watched a lot of movies and read a lot of books. As I played him and discovered who he is."

Valkyrie is out At UK cinemas this Friday January 22
