Robert Pattinson Says Edward Is An ‘Oddball’

And he wants Gus Van Sant for the fourth Twilight flick…

Robert Pattinson has admitted that his Twilight character Edward Cullen is an “oddball.”

Speaking to MTV News in the US he revealed that he understands why Bella’s family aren’t keen on the vampire in New Moon.

He said: “I love Charlie- Bella's dad's- attitude toward Edward in this one; he never gives him a break about anything, he's just constantly saying, 'That guy. He's just terrible for you.' "

And despite the character spying on Bella while she sleeps- Pattinson joked that a restraining order wouldn’t work:

“I guess the restraining order wouldn't really be very good for anyone. But [Bella] could use a restraining order. I think if [Edward] wasn't a vampire, and this was in reality, a girl's parents would think he was an oddball.”

In the same interview the British hunk suggested his dream director for the fourth Twilight movie Breaking Dawn: "I probably shouldn't say this. But I've heard that we're going to shoot it in Portland. I think Gus Van Sant would be great to do it.”

Patz added: “He shoots everything in Portland. He's good at making it look beautiful."
