A sequel to fan-favourite game Life is Strange is on its way.
Developer Dontnod Entertainment confirmed the news by way of a message to fans, thanking them for their support of the 2015 smash-hit episodic game, which went on to sell 3 million copies and kept players up at night as we worried about the decisions and choices we made in-game.
According to the video announcement, development on the sequel started when the originally digital-only game was release on disc, way back in early 2016.
Life is Strange focused on Max Caufield, an everyday photography student with the unusual gift of being able to rewind time to fix mistakes of the immediate past. The game forcedus to make some really difficult choices, most of which had the butterfly effect of making asignificant impact to Max’s future - not to mention her friends, family, and classmates.
Each decision affected the future of the story, which meant different people experienced different outcomes, depending upon the decisions they made in the game.
There’s no word yet on what the new game will be about - or even if it’d retain Max’s awesome time-travel skills - and according to publisher Square Enix, developers Dontnod won’t be at E3 to tell us more). So watch this space, eh?
