Kanye West has caused upset at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards by invading the stage during Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech.

The massive-headed rapper, who has a thing for MTV Awards stage invasions, shocked the star-studded audience by interrupting Taylor Swift as she thanked fans for her Best Female Video award.

After snatching the microphone from her hands, Kanye let rip: "I'm sorry, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time," he shouted, as Beyoncé watched from the crowd, looking shocked and embarrassed.

Realising his protest had gone down about as well as a fart in a lift, Kanye decided to shut up. He left the stage to a barrage of boos, while a confused Taylor Swift walked off to a warm reception.

Kanye, who was snapped glugging Hennessy with girlfriend Amber Rose earlier in the evening, was asked to leave as a result of his invasion.

Meanwhile, Beyonce later invited Taylor on stage for another chance at her acceptance speech.
