Wesley Snipes Given Jail Term

The Blade star has been sentenced to three years for tax offences

Wesley Snipes has been given a three year jail term for serious tax crimes.

The actor- who starred in White Men Cant Jump, Demolition Man and the Blade films- was given the maximum jail term for failing to pay tax from 1999- 2001.

Despite offering $5 Million to the court and pleading for leniency the judge said Snipes showed a: history of contempt over a period of time. Wesley was cleared of other more serious tax-related charges.

He has not been jailed yet and its reported his lawyers will appeal against the sentence.
